My name is Jaylin. I became a BrenRose tenant in July of 2022, when my mental health counselor reached out to Tammy, desperate to find a home for me. I was in a psych unit and was about to be discharged back to the street.
I lost my mom when I was six to cancer, and my dad turned to drugs. I went in to foster care when he went to prison for manslaughter after suffocating my baby brother when he was high.
I lived in the homes of relatives and strangers where I experienced abuse on a regular basis.
Having a safe place to live, with a room of my own has made a world of difference for me. I am now an Evergreen student, studying Zoology!
*WE HOPE TO PAIR JAYLIN WITH THE "RIGHT FIT" WHERE SHE CAN TRADE HER AWESOME COOKING AND HELPER SKILLS FOR EXTREMELY LOW RENT, OR STRAIGHT TRADE FOR RENT. GETTING HER DEGREE WILL MOVE HER OUT OF POVERTY LONG TERM SO PLEASE CONSIDER HELPING US FIND THE PERFECT MATCH FOR JAYLIN

My name is Amanda. My brother Bryce came to live at BrenRose house in June 2022 after the closing of the Therapeutic foster home where he had lived and experienced stability for two years. Thankfully, Tammy was family support personnel there, so moving to live with her, eased his transition.
Bryce’s traumatic childhood combined with Autism and gender dysphoria resulted in extreme behavior concerns.  I am very grateful for Tammy’s willingness to continue to support him with a safe place to call home. Although there are day-to-day challenges, Bryce is working to build skills in the Transitions Academy at Olympia High School and we have high hopes for his continued growth.
Because I am currently unable accommodate him living with me, it’s even more important that he has people he knows and trusts around him. I am welcomed as a part of the family and have been invited to take on administration and other support roles. My close involvement helps me stay near my brother to make sure he has what he needs.
I love this program and I am so excited to see it grow and flourish!
